Talks and workshops
My talks start where the incident report ends
For 20+ years I built and led complex systems, in the Israeli Air Force and at HP: a production line and plant infrastructure, a production operations department from scratch, and the engineering and quality of a repair network. I learned to investigate failures down to the root. All my talks and workshops ask one question: how do we live, work and lead inside the systems we built, without losing ourselves in them?
Talks
Two or Three Meters from the Edge
A personal talk on burnout, values and choice, from an engineer who nearly fell and told it like an incident report.
About the moment when everything works on the outside and something has stopped working inside. About values that show up in the calendar, not on the wall. And about staying without disappearing, and changing without running away.
- For
- All employees and managers, company events, offsites, management forums
- Format
- 45, 60 or 75 minutes, with a short personal exercise
Everyone Held a Piece of the Truth
What a $200 circuit board taught me about crises, interfaces and leading without authority.
A board costing under $200 was about to stop customer machines worldwide within three weeks. Every function had seen part of the picture, and none had seen all of it. How a problem falls between the chairs, and how to put the truth together before the clock runs out.
- For
- Managers and team leads in R&D, operations, quality and service
- Format
- 60–75 minutes, with a mapping exercise on one of your own failures
AI Accelerates the Mess Too
What goes to the machine, what stays ours, and why you start with the process.
From an engineer who builds with AI himself. Where AI really saves time, where it's risky, and what stays our job. With live demos on real work tasks, and no "ten tools you must know" lists.
- For
- Managers and teams in operations, quality, service, engineering and PMO
- Format
- 60–75 minutes, with live demos
Team workshops
What the Incident Report Doesn't Ask
An incident review that prevents recurrence, without blame.
The team brings a real failure from recent months and reviews it again: to the root, not the symptom, across every interface. You leave with three layers of closure, an owner and a date, and a one-page review template.
- Format
- 3.5–4 hours, up to 20 participants
AI on Real Tasks
Process first, then the tool, then a measurable pilot.
Each participant brings three real tasks from their work and does them with the tools the company has approved. The team leaves with three pilot use cases, safe-use rules and a follow-up call after 30 days.
- Format
- 4 hours, or three 3-hour sessions
The Moshe Index
When the company depends on one person, or on one AI agent.
Every company has a Moshe: the one who knows how things really work, and without whom everything slows down. We map where knowledge, decisions and relationships sit in one head, and build mechanisms that hold without him. Without taking away his credit.
- Format
- 3.5–4 hours, for managers and leadership teams
For hardware startups and investors
From Prototype to Production
The product works in the lab, the first customers are happy, and then the orders arrive and the pace breaks: suppliers, assembly, installation and service. This talk is about what happens between "it works" and "it's built, installed and supported at scale".
Takeaways
- Seven signs a product isn't ready for ramp-up
- What has to be in the design before it freezes
- How to hand a product to a supplier who doesn't know it
- Why field failures are information about the design
Format
45–60 minutes, or a 2-hour session on your product. Also fits accelerators and fund portfolio events.
How it works
A short fit call: who the audience is, what has happened recently, and what you want to happen afterwards. I adapt the examples and exercises to your company, and send a short summary afterwards.
